Sometimes the reason to get a tarot reading is just to get one. Sometimes the reason is “I can control nothing else in my life, but I can choose this,” so I get a reading to find hope again.

Frequently Asked Questions about Tarot

I am scared of the tarot…

That is a very valid feeling. I’m kind of scared of it too… it just knows things and WHOA!

Here is my take on the power and usefulness of tarot and how to make it not so scary. In reality tarot is a set of cards. People used to play games with the cards. In practicality tarot is a series of stories, some decks take that further and actually tell a myth with each suite of cards.

I use tarot as a source of connection to soul. In my experience there are two things that trigger our soul towards action: story and image. Tarot contains both.

So tarot is just an un-organized fairy tale. You are the author and your question is an outline and we use the cards to get information and set intentions to make our story more fun and easy.

Is tarot evil? I heard rumors it was.

Well it depends on how much power you give the cards. Can they be used for evil-definitely but so can anything. Have they been banned-yes. Why? Because tarot cards contain symbolism and iconography that conflicted with ruling religions…simple, yet complicated.

I do not do predictive tarot for one reason and one reason only. I do not ever want to create a situation where a person feels un-empowered to interact within his or her own life. I want the tarot to be used as a tool to get you the skills you need to master your life-is that evil? You have to decide that.

Do I have to ask my question out loud?

Nope, but it helps with the telling of the cards as I can look at them with solutions in mind to your specific inquiry instead of being all general and vague.

What about bad cards?

Well when those come up we find out if they are coming or going and how we can make the process easier and transform the bad things into the compost that fertilizes our garden.

There are very few “bad” cards in my take on the tarot. All cards lead to possibility and that is not bad, complications and challenges are all a part of life, so let’s find you solutions to overcome the “bad”.

If I get the death card does it mean I am going to die?

Probably not! However it does mean that some event or pattern in your life is about to be transformed. The Death card can mean transition, death of ego, ending of an event, era, relationship, or pattern.

I LOVE the death card-it is why I chose the phoenix as my logo. In the myth of phoenix the creature is born from ashes, lives it’s life, bursts into flame and then is reborn. We do this all the time in our lives and the death card reminds us of these transitions.

Can I read the cards for myself?

Yes! If you want help I offer classes periodically and I have an e-book coming out soon. There are also really great books that I will soon get onto a resource page for you. Email me if you want more information.

More Thoughts on Tarot

I have so many questions…What’s coming up? What do I need to know? Should I stay or should I go? Are they the one for me? Why does this suck?tree-tarot

Bring all your questions to your reading-Let’s dive in.

A tarot reading can connect you to your higher self and teach you to recognize the universal communications happening all around.

Because communication is everywhere. And that is sometimes a problem. Reality, noise, twitter and the phone, stop us from hearing our soft quiet inner voice of wisdom.

I act as a translator for your intuitive voice, because sometimes our guides speak to us in a language we can’t yet recognize-or maybe just can’t hear because of all the internal voices of doom, or the incessant nattering of reality.
